Members of the Athens International Seventh-day Adventist Church gathered in Kalamos, Greece, from 16 to 18 October 2026 for their annual spiritual retreat. The three-day gathering provided opportunities for worship, Bible study, prayer and fellowship, with an emphasis on strengthening faith and relationships within the church community.
Throughout the weekend, participants were encouraged to reflect on their relationship with Christ through worship services and spiritual messages delivered by local pastors, including Ricardo Pereira. Special attention was given to personal evangelism through a session organised by the church’s Personal Ministries Department, highlighting the importance of sharing the gospel and demonstrating God's love in everyday life.
Alongside the spiritual programme, Bible-based games, music, shared meals and social activities were organised, allowing members of different ages to strengthen friendships and enjoy time together.
Despite rainy conditions on Sabbath morning, the programme continued in a spirit of prayer and encouragement. The arrival of sunshine during the worship service was welcomed by participants as a particularly meaningful moment of the gathering.
The retreat concluded on Sunday with a closing worship service and a shared effort to prepare the venue for departure. Through the combination of spiritual reflection, practical learning and fellowship, members were encouraged to continue growing in faith, supporting one another and sharing the hope found in Jesus Christ.
